My Australia
From the deserts to the mountains,
From the rivers to the sea,
The wonders of our country are poetry to me.
Those nights, whilst sitting around the old
camp fire,
Bush poets fill our hearts again with longing
and desire,
To roll our swags and move again, as many have
before,
And travel on across this land, to reach some
distant shore.
The mornings with the tall gums etched against
the sky,
The rich red earth beneath our feet, the night
birds lullaby,
The water falls, the billabongs, this land of
flowers and trees,
The wonders of our Barrier Reef and crystal
coral seas,
The fauna in the outback, which fills our hearts
with wonder,
The warmth of this country, known world wide
as Down Under.
